  • 9 Vodacom URC home games at 10bet Ellis Park, from Leinster on 26 September 2026 to Benetton on 24 April 2027.
  • One draw per match. Three names come out: the kicker, plus a first and second runner-up. Each gets two stand tickets.
  • Entry is an opt-in plus one real-money bet of R5 or more. Extra bets do not buy extra entries.
A R5 bet and an opt-in is all it takes to land in the draw for two stand tickets and one half-time kick at 10bet Ellis Park, with a R1 million pool that grows every time the posts stay empty.

The first kick missed, and the money is still there

The first Kick’A’Million attempt has already come and gone. 10bet’s own post after the Leinster game on 26 September put it plainly: the contender stepped up at 10bet Ellis Park, and the R1 million was still sitting there. That is the whole point of the rollover. Nine home dates, nine chances, and whatever is not kicked through the posts simply waits for the next Saturday.

What the pot actually does

Kick’A’Million runs only on designated Lions home games in the Vodacom URC at 10bet Ellis Park. Playoffs are out unless 10bet says otherwise. “Share of R1 million” is not a split between nine winners. It is one pool, allocated across the nine matches, and paid only to the person who lands a winning kick.

The first match carried R111,111.11. Miss it, and the money is not paid. It is added to the next match, which then sits at R222,222.22. Convert it, and the following match starts again on its own allocated amount. Anything still unclaimed after the Benetton game on 24 April 2027 is not awarded. The total paid out cannot go past R1 million.

That is why the early misses matter. A quiet September does not shrink the competition. It loads December and January.

How to get into the draw

Two things, both of them small. Do both before the window shuts and you are in that match’s draw.

The two steps

  • Opt in on the 10bet site during the open window for that match.
  • Place at least one real-money bet of R5 or more.

Once both are done, you are in. One entry. A R5 single and a R500 accumulator count the same. Bonus funds do not count as the qualifying bet.

When the windows open and close

The windows follow a set rhythm.

  • The first window opened at 16:00 SAST on Friday 23 September 2026 and shut at 13:00 on Wednesday 30 September.
  • Every match after that opens at 10:00 SAST on the Friday eight days before the game.
  • It closes at 13:00 SAST on the Wednesday before the game.
  • Late or incomplete entries are out.

New players and the welcome bonus

If you do not have a 10bet account yet, that is the only extra step. New players who register with the 10bet promo code BETS can pick up the welcome bonus on the way in, then use a cash bet of R5 or more on the Lions, the URC, or whatever else is on the board to finish the entry. The welcome terms sit on the cashier, including the minimum deposit, and they are separate from the Kick’A’Million rules.

Who can enter

You also need to be:

  • 18 or older
  • living in South Africa
  • holding a verified 10bet account in your own name
  • clear of an active self-exclusion or time-out

Three names, two tickets, one kick

The draw happens on the Thursday before the match. Three names come out in order.

  1. Primary participant, who gets the first chance to kick.
  2. First runner-up, who steps in if the primary cannot.
  3. Second runner-up, who is next if the first runner-up also drops out.

10bet phones all three that Thursday and checks eligibility. All three get two stand tickets for that game. The tickets follow stadium rules, have no cash value, and cannot be swapped for money.

A runner-up only kicks once 10bet has confirmed them, and they still have to pass the same checks. Being drawn is not a guarantee you will kick. Confirmation only lands once eligibility, attendance and the safety checks are done. If the primary cannot be reached, does not qualify, turns it down, cannot get to the ground, or is unwell, the line moves down.

What counts as a winning kick

Half-time. Halfway line. No closer than 50 metres from the try line. One rugby ball and a tee or mound supplied or approved by 10bet. You do not move the spot, and you do not get a practice kick on the field before the official attempt. One go.

The ball has to:

  • leave the designated spot
  • travel on the fly toward the posts
  • pass completely between the inner edges of the uprights
  • pass completely above the crossbar
  • avoid the uprights, the crossbar, the ground, any person, and any other object on the way through

10bet and the competition officials decide, using video where they can. That call is final, short of a clear error. A second attempt only happens if 10bet decides a technical fault on their side wrecked the first one.

Who cannot take the kick?

The entry list is wider than the kicking list. These people are blocked even if they opt in and bet:

  • Current or former professional or semi-professional rugby players and coaches
  • Anyone who has played competitive rugby in the past five years, including provincial, district and premier-league level
  • Professional or high-level competitive footballers
  • 10bet staff, Lions Rugby Company staff, and agency or supplier staff working on the competition
  • Immediate family of those people

If the afternoon falls apart

Weather, lightning, a bad field, a moved kickoff, or a safety call can shift the attempt. 10bet can delay it, move it to another point in the same match, push it to a later designated game, or cancel it. If no valid attempt happens, the cash rolls. If that happens on the final day and the kick is not postponed, the competition ends, and the remaining money is not paid. No compensation is due when the attempt cannot go ahead for reasons outside 10bet’s control.

If the kick goes over

The winner has to clear identity and eligibility checks and hand over:
  • a South African ID or passport
  • banking details for a South African account in their own name
